The Origin Story

We watched a vendor fail our community — and dismiss it with vanity metrics.

While working alongside the Driftpile Cree Nation, our founder Michael Wolfe witnessed first-hand the community's struggle with an existing platform that made promises it could not keep. When critical failures were raised, the vendor responded with charts instead of solutions. That is why Mâmawi App exists.

01

Unreliable Emergency Alerts

Alerts dependent solely on push notifications failed when reserve internet went down — a direct safety risk.

02

Elders Left Behind

Complex registration processes excluded the most knowledge-rich members of the community from the digital space.

03

No Member Verification

No secure way to confirm that app users were actual band members, creating serious data privacy risks.

04

Concerns Dismissed

Instead of solutions, the vendor presented vanity metrics to mask the platform's failures. No accountability.

Our Solution

Four Pillars No Non-Indigenous Competitor Can Authentically Replicate

Mâmawi is built on the specific failures we witnessed — and the specific solutions those communities deserve.

Data Sovereignty

OCAP-compliant architecture. Canadian servers. Your community's data stays yours — always.

Band-Member Verification

A secure, band-registry-linked approval portal. Admins know exactly who is in the app.

Redundant Emergency Alerts

Push + SMS + Email simultaneously. Alerts reach members even when reserve internet goes down.

Elder-First Design

Simplified onboarding, large text, high contrast. No community member is left behind.

Michael Wolfe

Driftpile Cree Nation Member · Founder & Owner, Cree8ive Media Inc.
"I have been passionate about technology since I was a child. When I watched my community be failed by an outside vendor who dismissed our concerns and showed us charts instead of solutions, I made a decision: I would build the platform our people actually deserved. Mâmawi App is not just a product. It is a promise."

Michael is a proud Driftpile Cree Nation member who founded Cree8ive Media Inc. three years ago as a media, web design, and marketing company focused exclusively on Indigenous communities and businesses. His direct experience supporting the Driftpile Cree Nation — and witnessing the failures of outside platforms — is the foundation of every design decision in Mâmawi App.
